The LPC provides the CANSO Executive Committee and Secretariat with appropriate expert advice and guidance on legal and policy issues related to CANSO activities.

To study relevant policy and legal issues and to provide the Executive Committee and the Secretariat with appropriate advice and guidance. The work program of the Legal and Policy Standing Committee (LPC) is basically organised to suit the agenda of the Executive Committee, to whom it is expected to deliver appropriate supporting material for decisions.
Much of the work of the LPC is related to the up-dating of the CANSO Charter and Articles. The LPC has been entrusted with the task of drafting proposals for amendments to CANSO's statutory instruments, where the Executive Committee has identified the need for clarification, modifications or developments.
General policy documents and Charter changes are prepared for presentation to ExCom and the AGM.
