CANSO wins Future Solutions award

The CANSO customer relations work-group has won the “Future Solutions” Award, presented by Jane’s Information Group at the 2007 ATC Maastricht conference and

exhibition. “We are trying to change the relationship at a working level between individual air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and their key customer airlines,” said Paul Riemens of ATC the Netherlands (LVNL) who chairs the work group and who received the award on behalf of the work group. “For example, we have changed the way some ANSPs now involve customers in cost benefit analyses of new initiatives.”

“In the first stage of our work we have developed a philosophy, a toolbox and guidelines to use them. In the second stage we identified a group of ANSPs and major airlines to use our work and to give feedback on the philosophy, toolboxes and guidelines. The third stage is to define a plan with the customers, based on their need to improve relations and add value.”
