About CANSO's European Regional Office

CANSO’s European Regional Office is based at the offices of Belgocontrol, at Brussels Airport. Established 5 years ago to lead CANSO’s policy and lobbying input into the European Commission, and coordinate ANSP best practice in the European region, the office has established an excellent reputation for its diligent and effective engagement with policymakers in Brussels and with the wider aviation industry and stakeholders.

Guenter heads CANSO's activities in Europe. He represents ANSPs in Eurocontrol, the Industry Consultation Body, the SESAR Joint Undertaking Administrative Board, and co-chairs the EU Social Dialogue.

  • 30 Jun 2010"End of the Full Cost Recovery System"?
    The regulation of the European Commission on the Performance Scheme was adopted on 7 May after intense discussions and CANSO lobbying since December 2009. A lot of the CANSO comments were included in this IR, in particular comments on requirements on ANSPs’ business plans, the possibility for Member States to set thresholds at national/FAB level to trigger the alert mechanism, and the request to not apply the performance scheme in case of contestable market conditions.
