CANSO's Communications

The aim of CANSO’s communications is at all times to promote the objectives of the Association and its Members, informing both Members and the wider ATM community in clear and exciting ways about our latest thinking and policies, news and industry developments. CANSO’s Communications supports the Workgroups in ensuring their work reaches a wide audience and engages with maximum effectiveness to further CANSO’s aim of improving ATM performance.

Chris Goater, Director of Communications

Chris Goater joined CANSO in November 2007, after three years at the UK Airport Operators Association as their Head of Media and Public Affairs. He was a research advisor to the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport and Environment in the UK parliament, a key member of the UK Sustainable Aviation Group, and has made numerous media appearances debating aviation issues.

    This week we’re busy preparing for the CANSO CEO Conference, our Operations Conference, and for our presence at ATC Global, so it’s an incredibly busy time. The centerpiece of the CEO Conference is going to be the proposals on ‘Waypoint 2013’ which you have probably already heard or read something about in the blogs and CANSO News. We’ll also be talking a lot more about Waypoint 2013 in the next issue of Airspace, which is out next week.

  • 25 Jan 2010The Need for More ATM Capacity in the Middle East
    Just a brief update from Dubai, where I am attending the CANSO ExCom and Middle East Conference. It’s a packed but productive schedule out here, and the urgent requirement for more ATM capacity in the region was brought home to me when we were forced to circle for about half an hour in the Gulf before landing.
