The Asia Pacific Region is the largest and one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world. It is a culturally and economically diverse region with air navigation service providers (ANSP) of different characteristics and a wide range of technical and operational challenges, foremost among which is the challenge of managing the rapid growth of air travel safely and efficiently across the region.
CANSO and its Members work closely with States and industry partners to transform air traffic management (ATM) in the region and its efforts are focused on measures to enhance capacity, safety and efficiency such as ADS-B collaboration; air traffic flow management; collaborative decision making (CDM) and en-route performance-based navigation (PBN) harmonisation.
The region has a vision for safe, seamless and harmonised airspace. CANSO cooperates with States and industry partners to help achieve this vision by promoting collaboration and innovation among its Members and through various cross-industry groups.
The Asia Pacific CANSO CEO Committee (APC3) governs and directs CANSO's work in the Asia Pacific, within the framework of the Organisation's global policies and positions. APC3 is supported by the Director Asia Pacific Affairs and regional working groups dealing in ATM operations and safety.
