Contenders Throw Their Hats Into the Ring For the IHS Jane’s ATC Awards 2014

9 January 2014

Air navigation service providers, regulators and private-sector companies from around the world will gather in Madrid on 3 March for the IHS Jane’s ATC Awards 2014.

Entries for the industry-leading ATC Awards are now being shortlisted by a panel of judges comprising senior representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eurocontrol, the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Association (IFATCA), and IHS Jane’s.

The winners will be announced during the CANSO ATM Dinner. This event takes place at the Galeria de Cristal in Madrid before the World ATM Congress 2014, operated by CANSO in association with ATCA.

The IHS Jane's ATC Awards have evolved since 2001 to become the industry's most prestigious platform for highlighting and rewarding excellence in the field. “The ceremony on 3 March will mark the 14th consecutive year that IHS Jane’s has highlighted the ‘best of breed’ in air traffic control and air traffic management,” said Ben Vogel, editor of IHS Jane’s Airport Review. “The Awards continue to attract interest from organisations at the cutting edge of technological and regulatory development.”

Jeff Poole, director general of CANSO, said: “At the CANSO ATM Dinner on 3 March, on the eve of World ATM Congress, we will once again celebrate the achievements of those organisations that are driving change, harnessing innovative technologies and delivering efficiencies and improvements for their customers. The high quality of the entries for the 2014 IHS Jane’s ATC Awards reflects the impressive work going on across the ATM industry to deliver on safety, performance, and efficiency. The Awards are highly valued by those in the ATM industry, whether ANSPs or industry suppliers, so competition will be intense. The achievements of all nominees are helping to take us towards our vision of delivering safe, efficient, and seamless airspace globally.”
