MEAUSE Workshop Forum 2016

The MEAUSE Workshop Forum was held on 3-4 April 2016.  This year’s forum, themed Global Agreements – Regional Implementation, was hosted by NANSC in Cairo, Egypt.

The objective of MEAUSE (Middle East ANSP, Airspace User and Stakeholder Engagement) was to bring all aviation stakeholders together - regulators, ANSPs, airports, military and civil airspace users and suppliers – to share experiences and views, to exchange best practice and learn from one another, to evaluate emerging issues, to agree on joint activities and to take the next step towards successful regional stakeholder collaboration. MEAUSE also acts as a platform for consultation and the discussion of regional emerging needs and latest projects.

With the aim of supporting Middle East stakeholders in their efforts to improve and transform air traffic management (ATM) in the region, the MEAUSE Workshop Forum 2016 offered panel discussions on regulatory frameworks, safety and performance, remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) or drones, airport collaborative decision making (A-CDM), and remote air traffic control towers, and will conclude with meetings of the Middle East Safety Workgroup and the MEAUSE Steering Group.
