Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE)

Organisation Overview

The Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise (UkSATSE) was established in 1992, and since then it has been the main ANSP in Ukraine. The Enterprise goes forward dynamically and contributes to the permanent development of the Ukrainian air navigation system (ANS), which has long been the integral part of the pan-European ANS. Since 2004 Ukraine is a member of EUROCONTROL, and air traffic services, provided by UkSATSE, fully comply with the international standards. 

UkSATSE’s achievements include:

  • Upgrade of the Automated Air Traffic Control System at Kyiv Area Control Centre;
  • Upgrade of the Automated Air Traffic Control System at Dnipropetrovsk Area Control Centre;
  • Implementation of:
    • the Automated Meteorological Information System VOLMET at Odessa Area Control Centre;
    • FRA (Free Route Airspace) in Ukraine;
    • two remote high frequency radio telecommunication centres to provide aeronautic telecommunication in south region of Ukraine;
    • high frequency radio telecommunication center for Kharkiv APP;
    • high frequency radio telecommunication center to provide SAR (search and rescue) service;
    • VOR/DME beacons at Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regional branches;
    • airport surveillance radar (ASR) facilities at Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya airports.

Sustained comprehensive modernisation of the national air navigation system makes the airspace of Ukraine more attractive.
