This announcement was made last night - during the 2014 IATA Global Training Partner Congress, currently underway in Canada, North America.

IATA has 25 Regional Training Providers around the world.

ATNS has been recognised for “the impressive results achieved and outstanding contributions” by its Training Academy for “its part in developing the human capital of the air transport industry” in 2013.

To achieve this outstanding feat, ATNS ATA conducted more than thirty (30) IATA training courses and trained more than five hundred (500) candidates.

South Africa and in particular ATNS, has shown its mettle as a regional leader in aviation safety. This is according to ATNS CEO, Thabani Mthiyane. “Its quest to develop the human capital of the aviation industry in the African continent is being fully recognised. We are part of a continental collective, whose mission is to upgrade the skills of aviation professionals thereby strengthening the African aviation as a whole. As ATNS, we are honoured to receive this award from IATA” concluded Thabani.

ATNS is committed to serving the Air Traffic Management (ATM) community by deploying leading technology with foresight, as well as continual improvement to safety, which demonstrates ATNS’ commitment to IATA’s training programs. ATNS puts people and safety first - by rigorously training and upgrading safety knowledge and skills, and is committed to upholding aviation industry’s safety standards, legislation and practices.

The ATA has proudly trained more than 9000 international and local delegates since 2000 to date. A wide variety of training programs are offered to prepare graduates for a successful professional career in Air Traffic Services and Engineering Support.

The 2014 IATA Worldwide Top RTP Award comes at a very good time. On 22nd July 2014, ATNS will be celebrating 21 years of Excellent Air Traffic Management service provision. The company has seen the growth of the industry and a host of innovative ways of delivering world-class safety and operational performance. Training has indeed been top of the list.
