Thales Wins Contract to Supply Two Primary and Secondary Radars in Belarus

Belaeronavigatsia, the Belarusian ANSP, has renewed its trust in Thales in its efforts to modernise the country’s ATC system. Following a competitive international tender, the ANSP awarded Thales a new contract to provide a further 2 primary and secondary radars. 

Under this contract signed in August 2013, Thales and its partner AGAT will deploy two sets of co-mounted STAR 2000 primary radars and RSM 2000 S secondary radars at Brest and Gomel airports. This contract, together with Thales radars already in operation in Minsk-2, Grodno and Mogilev, brings the total number of radars in Belarus to 4 primary and 1 secondary radar. 

In commenting on this deal, Olivier Achard, Vice-President Sales ATM for Thales said; “Belaeronavigatsia’s renewed trust in Thales is testament to the excellent working relationship we have developed with this key Eastern European country as well as our unique capability to deliver superior ATC radar systems.”
